How much do you know your WEDDING? Part 3 Wedding Door Gift

Some people will have headaches about the gifts to give away on their Big Day. I try to set up my sister's wedding before, so I know how hard is it to choose being under budget and wanting it to look nice for a wedding. But now, there is a lot of special door gift to choose for your Big Day. Like muffin, chocolate, key chains, photo frame....

I had read a news from China, some super rich guy used LV, Gucci name card holder or key chain to be their door gift. We are not rich people, so this is not the gift we can afford to give for our wedding day. (Unless you are damn rich!! Then you may)

For this few samples, I felt that they are quite simple. I like something special and realistic for guest. Do you have any idea now? I had! After I set up my sister's wedding, I had started a door gift service for my customers if they need this service, but not all people can accept this gift. Is SOAP. Homemade & Natural soap.

Normally, this kind of soap is quite different then normal soap which you can buy in a market or a mall. It is made by using natural ingredients, like olive oil, lemon grass... etc. I'm not professional enough in making this, but I do know how to process a soap. I will try one day to blog about how to make a natural soap.

Now I will be posting some photos of the soap that I'm having in my shop. All which is made by my elder sister. She is good in this and likes handmade things. Some customer had bought the soap and give a good comment after using it. Not sure every people will like it or feel that it is nice to use.

Normally, people said that the soap looks more like a chocolate than a soap, lol. After packaging, it will be nice as a wedding door gift. Any idea for your wedding door gift? Maybe you had a nice idea than mine. Just leave your comment below.

Leather Key Case

I always like to learn new things, i have no idea why. Maybe it's because I can't stay long with one thing, I like to do something new and fresh, lol. I have been learning how to make a key chain purse few days ago, and I like it so much, although it is not an LV, Gucci or Prada, it's just a thing that I like to do for myself, so I love it more then the other purse that I buy for myself!

Lets me explain to you what I had learn from the course. 

Tools 

This is all the tools needed to start my Leather Key Case. Like leather colouring agent, punch tools, brushes, white glue and hammer....

Leather

For the leather you can choose whatever you like including colour as well. There are tons of leather to choose from like snake, pig, cow, goat, etc...  After drafting out the key case pattern, you need to cut out all the parts that you have drafted.

Stud button to lock the key ring.

Key Ring

Stud button, Press stud button and Key ring you can be bought in a leather accessories shop or maybe in some DIY shop. You can choose what kind of colour or design you like which can match with your leather of choice.

All the tools are ready, then its time for me to start the work!

First I will punch a hole for the opening and punch in my Press stud button.

When you finish punching the hole and button into the leather, then you can ready a brush to apply the glue into the face that you are going stick it together. After the first layer of the glue is half dry, then apply the second layer of glue.

Apply the white glue on both side.

Make sure all the sides are covered in glue or else it will not stick properly.

Once you are done sticking them together, you need to use a hammer to hammer all the places that you had stick. This is the most safest way to let both side stick together firmly.

Then, take your hammer and your hole punching tools to punch all the hole to ready it for sewing.

Sewing Time. This is the part where time is wasted the most but I do enjoy doing this.

When your done with the sewing part, is time to punch in the key ring into the case. If not, it will not be a key case. LOL !!!

How much do you know your WEDDING?  Part 2 Invitation Card


Invitation Card
Every wedding couple will need to start with a list of who will be your guess at your wedding dinner. Before you start inviting your friends or families to your wedding dinner, you definitely send out invitation to your friends. So, an invitation card is quite important for a wedding couple.

An invitation card is an image about your wedding which will show how grand it will be. Sometimes, it will show out how your personality is as well. How do you start to get to choose your wedding invitation card? Have you read my Part 1? Click "HERE"!

Nowadays, birthday cards and new year cards comes in a lot of design for you to choose from. If you have a good budget for your wedding, you can definitely have custom made invitation cards. For the more traditional Chinese invitation card, for sure it will come in shades of Red, Pink or Gold colour as the base colour and definitely a must have for the words, "喜喜". This mandarin word is actually a combination of two "喜" together, which means "Double Happiness" and auspicious life filled with joyful mood together for the wedding couple.

For a western styled wedding invitation card, there is also quite a lot of design to choose from. For me, I will choose the western wedding invitation style because I like that there is something special about it. They don't have any specification for the designs. You can choose whatever you want or follow back the theme, this is what I like about it.

The last wedding invitation card design is nice right? Is Timonthy & Audrey 's wedding invitation card. Their wedding theme is "UP", if you have watched Disney's Pixar animation "UP", you will know why the invitation card is so colourful and the lovely couple is sitting in a hot air balloon! A wedding invitation card is not just invite of your friends or families to your wedding dinner. It also includes writting of personal information of the bride and groom in order to let their guess know and remember who is getting married and where are they having the venue and where do they come from. On the invitation cards, it will also include the time, date of marriage and address of the venue. Some wedding invitation cards includes a menu of food served at the place.

Chinese information format

For Chinese, you will definitely received this kind of wedding invitation card before.

This is some summary note.

Take note of following etiquette: 
1. Specify the date of the wedding in both gregorian/solar and Chinese/lunar calendar form.
2. List the day of the week in parenthesis.
3. Precede the bride and groom's names with their birth order among siblings.

For example: Eldest son Second daughter Youngest son
4. The characters for "welcome" should be in larger font than rest of text.

Western information format~

To be honest, all the format is actually quite similar, just the typesetting is different. I believe now you will know how to prepare a wedding invitation card after reading this.
